Daniella Kallmeyer presented a collection that was extremely easy to wear, giving many options ranging from sporty to corporate. This same flexibility was applied to a few dresses that offered variety, coming in floor and cocktail lengths. She definitely thought about the modern’s woman’s lifestyle and offered solutions for any occasion.
Kallmeyer began the show with sharply tailored looks in black, creating some dimension by incorporating leather and metallic nylon. As the show evolved a pair of leggings printed with a abstract pattern, reminiscent of a floral that had a watercolor effect. The leggings were paired with a black, crepe peplum top that with elegant cut-outs at the shoulders. A look done in a jubilant shade of tangerine followed and grabbed the audience’s attention.
The collection progressed in almost the opposite direction in the feeling that it elicited while staying true to Kallmeyer’s aesthetic. Sky blues and white trotted down the runway on an astro-turf looking carpet, giving the impression of an upscale garden party on a warm spring day. It seems that color blocking sandals aren’t going anywhere for 2013 as all of the looks were styled with black, white, navy, and neon yellow color-blocked sandals.
For hair Kallmeyer choose a twist on the slicked-back look. She created interest by adding two cornrows that started at the temple and joined at the back. Their hair ties where hidden by a loc of hair that way wrapped around the base of the braid.
As for make-up the girls had bronzed cheeks and strong brows that were painted neon. The hair and makeup gave the impression of a modern sun goddess.
