Inspired by combinations of royalty and informality, Catherine Malandrino created a chic Spring/Summer 2013 collection with an element of comfort. The main idea behind each garment is to unite delicate French romanticism and easily flexible sportswear.

Fabrics collided in combinations of leather, mesh and grosgrain. Heavy wavy textures also dominated cropped jackets, cropped sweater tops and dresses. The palette was light and pale, contributing to this season’s popular color trend. My favorite was a brighter mint shade, specifically on a long silk pant. Formal dresses with gorgeous embroidered belts were paired with sporty caps giving the overall look a more relaxed feel.
Hair was pulled up towards the front in a futuristic symmetrical style; makeup very neutral with light shimmery shadow and neutral lip. My accessory spotlight would be on the long white link earrings gently falling on the fabric past shoulders. A standout look was a light turquoise satin gown with embodiment on the neckline and a high slit (which seems to be another popular trend of the season!)
