EVERYTHING FOREVER by Katie Gallagher
Katie Gallagher’s collection which was inspired by “purity and rebirth of the soul”, along with the styling, turned the models in to celestial beings. The beauty looks were compliment by delicate jewelry pieces that perched on their ears (designed by Megan Isaacs). The other-worldly atmosphere was enhanced by the haunting vocals of Ella Joyce Buckley (who was also styled to perfection!).

The Hair:
“My inspiration is kind of that New York girl who’s super hip, she has a really cool outfit on, she’s at a really cool party, she hangs out and has a nightlife. That girl that knows she doesn’t have to be totally dressed up and also have super done hair. You know, that’s what I see the New York girl as and that’s how I see fashion right now as well. With hair it’s really about being as simple and natural as possible but still looking really good.
To create these looks that we did today the product that we used, which I absolutely loved working with, was MoroccanOil. I was really surprised with how great it was able to get the texture that I wanted with their Curl Control Mousse. The hairspray is absolutely amazing, it was really easy to work and create styles with. I was still able to brush through, it had really great workability and nice hold.”

The Makeup:

What I used on the models today was Pink Opal Shimmer from MAC, it looks very three dimensional. The collection really is about texture and it’s about this tone-on-tone color where it’s black, white, and these beautiful bone tones. So instead of having the makeup just be flat, I used the Pink Opal to make some more dimension. So it’s almost like the face looks like an alien or more mannequin-like.
What I did is kept the eyes really simple. I wrapped the eyes with a nude brown cream all the way around in a circle and then used Fascinating Pencil in the waterline. To make it look a little bit fresh and to make sure that the eyes did not look tired I used the black mascara on the top and bottom to really open up the eye, erased the brows with a little bit of concealer, contoured and sculpted the cheeks, and then added the Pink Opal on top of that too. So the Pink Opal really is the one that makes it three dimensional. I am using this much shine because there is no shine in the collection at all. For lips I’m using Cherish and Mint lipstick. The product that I’m using to wrap the eye with is Fluid Liner, it’s a gel liner from MAC. What MAC did is they got inspired by eyebrow colors, so these are actually eyeliners but you can use them as shadow-as anything. What’s amazing is that it stays in place so it’s going to be a great product for summer.
