The setting was intimate for Washington Roberts’ presentation for their Spring 2013 Ready To Wear collection, held atop Hotel Indigo’s roof in Chelsea, the metropolitan. The eight-look collection fit right in against the skyline of which its patrons will be walking through. Pastel colors and nice dressin angular peplum waists were the main focus, with some accents and variations, such as strong color-blocking and sequin/glitter embellishment, respectively.

While the color-blocking styles proved to be the standouts of the night, the embellished style, done in the same electric blue as the neon, faltered in its cohesiveness with the rest of the collection. Also present was a pastel pink power suit, with strong accents in a deep crimson on the pant legs and pockets. The hair was pulled away from the face, perhaps in an effort to maintain the focus on the clothing, given it being a capsule presentation, as opposed to a full-on runway show.
Another honorable mention was a sweetheart cut cocktail dress, colored in white and gold, with the thematic peplum, which can definitely be projected for mainstream success this coming spring. Aside from the embellished misstep, the rest of the show rolled out quite nicely, and proved to be a great taste for future effo
