The Nomia presentation was all about geometry. Looks done in stunning solids and an array of complementing colors ruled the runway this evening. Unconventional shapes of garments somehow made them look futuristic without the usual sleek/metallic theme, yet absolutely wearable.
Colors seen on the runway were: lots of black, olive, ultramarine blue, rose and grey. My utter favorite was the little black dress done with a bright blue collar adding sophistication to the garment and making it appropriate for daytime, as well as a night out. Every outfit that was done in a solid dark shade had a pop of bright color, either on the skirt or a collar.
New Yorkers are well-known for wearing black, so it was quite refreshing to see something current, relevant, yet with a colorful twist. Looks were very structured and simple, makeup was extremely light and hair pulled back into a sleek low ponytail. Seeing lots of fur around Lincoln Center this fashion week, I was also very excited to see exaggerated fur colors and vests as a part of the collection.
